RAIPUR: Returning to roots after having worked for software giants abroad, three city-based software professionals have got together to float an online healthcare startup. The online portal ineeddoctor.in, which connects patients with Raipur-based doctors, was started by Amit Agrawal, Abhishek Tiwari and Akansh Goyal in January this year.
Thousands of residents are making most of this portal and taking appointments from doctors online. The website also helps customers track their number in waiting list. The venture has managed to rope in 55 doctors and 80 health partners, including a diagnostic centre. Amit said, "We are not yielding big bucks, but definitely making profit."
When asked as to what prompted them to choose Raipur over other cities, The duo said optimization of costs, a virgin market, chance to make most of the experience gained through their IT venture in four years triggered the fire in them to work in city. Moreover, they wanted to be a part of development of city and state.
On discussing issues faced by them in setting-up their venture, Amit said, "There is lack of funding options and creaking infrastructure in city as compared to its scope in metros. But, revised government policies in IT sector has encouraged us to explore opportunities in Chhattisgarh."
"The trend of going online for booking appointments, tickets and other works are passive in major parts of state, still I am hopeful as technology has carried away with itself every person in its comfort and usage. People here would access the pace, provided, such websites and apps are made available to them by IT professionals", he added.
The trio self-funded the amount of Rs 25-30 lakh for its set up, which includes technical developments and marketing. They make money from health partners by charging for premium listings and advertisements on its app and website by selling customer relationship management software to doctors.
